Reading Success in Children

ACHIEVING READING SUCCESS

INTRODUCTION

Professional development is critical in equipping teachers and school leaders with the research-based knowledge they need to implement an effective reading program in school, select the right methods, books, and develop support systems. The most effective school implementation designs will take into account the need for ongoing teacher professional development in order to create and sustain a culture of continuous learning and continuous improvement. To facilitate ongoing learning, teachers need time to learn. Professional development needs to be multidimensional to be effective.
