International Medical Linkages and Referral Services (IMLRS)


HCL links patients who have different medical conditions (as per referring doctor’s diagnosis) with the best hospitals accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI) in the United States of America (USA), United Kingdom (UK), Israel, India, Thailand, Singapore, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Republic of South Africa (RSA), among others countries under review. To ensure a holistic treatment, HCL ensures that highly qualified specialists are available in these hospitals to ensure patients are treated professionally, thereby saving the much needed time, reducing pain and wasted working hours often associated with sickness.

To improve access to this level of services HCL provides unmatched services to international patients from Africa and other parts of the world facing difficulties while selecting right physicians, hospitals, medical tests and procedures needed in these foreign countries before, during and after international referral. Travel arrangements to foreign countries including their accommodation during treatment.

Travelling to an alien country for treatment is a difficult decision for any patient. Lack of local knowledge, language problem, and food, cultural, social and economic differences can lead to a plethora of problems in a foreign land for patients and their relatives.

Keeping this in mind, our IMLRS services make our patients feel home away from home.
Firstly, we make sure that all pre-arrival services are given. Secondly, we ensure that the patients and their relatives feel safe and comfortable in the country where they are seeking treatment. Thirdly, we leave no stone unturned to ensure that our patients travelling abroad for treatment under the banner of IMLRS get the best treatment possible on time and within their budget.

Based on patients' treatment requirements and cost-effectiveness, and our prior negotiations with hospitals, we recommend best hospitals and doctors’ abroad dependent on the nature and diagnosis of the patient, our accreditation requirement for the admitting and attending physicians to ensure speedy recovery hence returning home healthier and happier.

The services are, therefore, categorized into the following phases: pre-arrival, arrival, hospital stay and return home.

  1. Pre-Arrival (while still in your country of Origin):
  2. Services provided here include:

    • Support in documentation and scanning of medical documents required by the foreign physician selected
    • Pre-departure preparation including and not limited to ensuring right vaccination/immunization where necessary
    • Advice on the appropriate dressing (especially if departure is due during winter) due to the changes in weather patterns
    • Support in arranging for visas to the foreign countries
    • Flight bookings
    • Booking accommodation in the selected foreign country.
    • Booking airport pickup upon arrival – preferably this will be a return ticket with dummy dates that can be changed closed once discharge is confirmed.

  3. Arrival Services:
    • Ensure ready taxi / ambulance waiting at the airport on arrival.
    • Confirmation that the admission process to the facility is done upon arrival as seamlessly as possible.

  4. Hospital Stay:
    • Any communication needed with the former physician or with the insurance company by the foreign physician and hospital will be facilitated by our agency and will be handled with the absolute confidentiality. Otherwise, the physician and the hospital will have taken over the management of the patient upon arrival in the foreign country.

  5. Return Home:
    • Changes of dates on the dummy tickets where needed will be effected as soon as the date of discharge is confirmed.
